शङ्करायते लोक शङ्करायते वन्दनानि मे देव वासुदेवस्य॥

O Lord Shankara, the Benefactor of the world
I, the son of Vasudeva, salute to Thee.

भाल लोचनं तव हि मे सुदर्शनम् शूलमेव ते तिलकमूर्ध्व पूण्ड्रकम्।
नील कण्ठ ते भाति कण्ठ नीलिम विस्तरान्महो मम हि देह नीलिम॥

My Sudarshana (disc) is verily Thy fiery third eye.The three pronged tilakam (mark) on my forehead is none but Thy Trishula (trident).A small streak of Thy blue scarred throat has spread over my entire body and made it blue.

शङ्करायते लोक शङ्करायते वन्दनानि मे देव वासुदेवस्य॥
O Lord Shankara, the Benefactor of the world I, the son of Vasudeva, salute to Thee.

भाल चक्षुषा दग्ध पद्मसायकम् सादराक्षिणा दृष्टपद्म सम्भवम्।
प्रेमविक्षण लोल पद्म लोचनम् त्वाम् त्रिलोचनं देव संस्मराम्यहम्॥

Thy central eye slays Manmatha, who has the lotus as an arrow. Thy right eye sees Lord Brahma, the Creator, who was born out of a lotus. Thy left eye revels in the divine beauty of Lord Vishnu as Thy beloved, lotus-eyed Mohini.

Thus O Thee-Eyed One, I remember Thee.

नटन पण्डित स्फुरति रम्य ताण्डवम् चित्र मण्डलं भ्रमण लोल कुण्डलम्।
उरगमण्डन स्खलित धर्म दण्डनम् दनुज खण्डनं विजित भारती भण्डनम्॥

O Maestro as thou peform the divine Tandava (dance). Thy earings swinging playfully are a picturesque sight. The snake that adorns Thy neck is the chastisement of the unrighteous
Destroyer of the demons, protector of the conquered Bharati
